The new edition of the foreign policy newsletter is dedicated to the Shadow Report of Moldova's progress in the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission in the context of the accession process to the European Union.

The new edition of the foreign policy newsletter is dedicated to the Shadow Report of Moldova's progress in the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission in the context of the accession process to the European Union. The report was developed by ten civil society experts within the “Civil Society for European Integration” Project and represents an evaluation of the implementation of the European Commission's recommendations on the “Fundamentals” chapters, which include, among others, the justice reform, the existence of a functional market economy, the freedom of expression. About the progress, but also the constraints in these fields, we discussed with independent experts in three interviews given by Cristina Ciubotaru, anti-corruption expert; Stas Madan, economic analyst; and Nadine Gogu, mass media expert. The general conclusions are that the Republic of Moldova has only partially implemented the EU recommendations, and the pace of implementation needs to be much more sustained. Last but not least, we offer you to read an editorial signed by the TVR and Balkan Insight journalist, Mădălin Necșuțu, about what the Republic of Moldova's relationship with the EU should look like and what the priorities should be. We invite you to virtually browse the pages of our August edition of the newsletter, available HERE.
