MACRO 2025: European Integration and Inclusive Policies for Moldova’s Economic Future

The Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Moldova, together with the Independent Analytical Center “Expert-Grup”, organized the 13th edition of the MACRO Conference, titled “Moldova’s Economic Convergence with the European Union and Solutions for Poverty Reduction.”

The Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Moldova, together with the Independent Analytical Center “Expert-Grup”, organized the 13th edition of the MACRO Conference, titled “Moldova’s Economic Convergence with the European Union and Solutions for Poverty Reduction.” The event brought together representatives of the Government, the business community, economic experts, international organizations, and development partners, providing a platform for dialogue on the country’s challenges and strategic directions for development.

The Conference addressed key topics, including Moldova’s economic convergence with the European Union and practical solutions for reducing poverty. During the event, the Country Status Report 2025 was presented, offering a detailed overview of the economic and social situation in the Republic of Moldova and outlining public policy priorities that support sustainable development and improve citizens’ well-being.

This edition of MACRO featured two thematic panels and gathered 160 participants to discuss the main domestic and external challenges affecting the economy, particularly internal inequalities and the gap with the European Union. The event emphasized the importance of evidence-based policies and inclusive dialogue to address social and economic disparities, as well as to promote sustainable development and long-term prosperity in Moldova.

The MACRO Conference is organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Moldova and the Independent Analytical Center “Expert-Grup”.
