Transnistria, face to face with the European realities of the Republic of Moldova
The first issue of the FES/APE foreign policy newsletter of 2024 is dedicated to the Transnistrian settlement. The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, explains in detail the current situation of the negotiations with Tiraspol, in the light of the amendments to the Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova. The editorial is signed by the journalist Madalin Necșuțu, who raises the issue of human rights in the region and the solutions regarding possible contingency plans for the reintegration of the Transnistrian region. The chairman of the CUB party, Igor Munteanu, explains why there is a problem of competition between the economic agents on both banks of the Dniester, while the IDIS Viitorul expert, Veaceslav Ionita, makes an analysis of the taxation of Transnistrian goods, as well as of the advantages and disadvantages of this process.
