The Referendum on European integration of the Republic of Moldova is the central topic of the February edition of the FES/APE foreign policy newsletter. The issue contains interviews with Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, PAS deputy and chair of the Parliamentary Commission for Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sport and Mass Media, and Alexandru Bujorean, co-president of the League of Cities and Municipalities (LOC). Both spoke about the opportunity, advantages and disadvantages of organizing a referendum on European integration at the same time as the presidential elections in the fall of this year, which is an initiative of President Maia Sandu. Promo-LEX experts have carried out an explanatory analysis from a legal point of view regarding the referendum, which also contains the organization's position on the possibility and opportunity of holding the national referendum on the same day as the parliamentary or presidential elections.
